Sophie Horvat is a ceramic artist with a primary focus on wheel thrown, small batch tableware for domestic and commercial use. Alongside this, Sophie experiments with hand-building and altering techniques to develop work for exhibition. Sophie’s work is inspired by impressions found in nature, as well as shades and textures within the Australian landscape near her home culminating in a strong emphasis on colour and pattern in her work.

She is currently working from her shared studio space at the JamFactory in Adelaide, whilst completing her second year of their esteemed Associate Program. The land on which she lives and makes is the traditional country of the Kaurna people.
